citing financial reasons, cancelled it in July 1995. At the time, Inside
Albany
had been on the air for more than 20 years, making it one of the longest
running TV programs in the nation.
Buoyed
by the support of viewers, they formed an independent production company
and raised money to return the program. Inside
Albany
resumed broadcast five months later in January 1996 when the legislature
returned to town.
Prior
to joining Inside
Albany,
Lise was a newspaper reporter. Her articles appeared in the Albany
Knickerbocker News, Boston Globe, Empire State Report,
Wall Street Journal, Washington Post and Ithaca Journal.
She also contributed weekly commentaries for New York Public Radio.
She
has won numerous journalism awards, including from the NYS Broadcasters
Association, United Press International and NYS Publishers Association.
